Things to do in Busan | 2 Days in Busan Itinerary

gwangalli beach, Busan, South Korea

Busan is the second largest city in South Korea. I will say, Busan has a different kind of energy compared to Seoul. The moment that we got into Busan, I knew I wasn’t in Seoul anymore. The city was still busy and bustling, but differently.

Traveling Tips for Busan:

  1. Busan is pretty big and very busy, I suggest visiting places that are closer together on the same day, especially if you plan to take public transportation. However, you can still do all the things in one day—just include travel time in your itinerary.

  2. The easiest and most affordable way to travel around the city is public transportation. The train stations are pretty clean and easy to use and navigate. The trains in Busan does include English on their signs and announcements but I found that not all their buses do. (Get the Naver Map to help navigate!)

I spent 2 full days in Busan. If you are also planning to visit Busan, here are some things you can do:

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple: A Buddhist temple in Busan. It is away from the more tourist areas of Busan, but worth traveling to! It’s right by the coast and is labeled one of the most beautiful temples in South Korea.

SPA Land: One of the largest spa located in the Shinsegae shopping mall. It is a traditional Korean Spa (jjimjilbang). It also has a lot of different rooms where you can go in to relax. Every room is different. Highly recommend this if you want to relax after a long day or you just have time to kill and want to relax!

Shinsegae Mall: One of the largest shopping malls in the world. You can seriously spend all day here. As someone who doesn’t shop often, I found it a bit overwhelming, but it was still super cool to see and experience!

Bujeon Market: A street market in the center of Busan. There are people selling food, fish, produce, artisan goodies. When we went it was very crowded, but it was still cool to experience.

Gamcheon Culture Village: One of my favorite things we did in Busan. Gamcheon is a village where all the houses were painted in different colors. Definitely read the history of this location! There are a lot of tourist attractions, photo opportunities, and coffee shops to try. People do live here so make sure to be respectful while you’re here. Also, buy a map from the information office—it will help you navigate! There are also public bathrooms you can use and you walk around, which is super convenient.

Busan Tower: We stopped by the Busan Tower. It has a great view of the city!

Jagalchi Market: There are outdoor vendors selling food and other goods. Then inside this huge building is a fish market. It was bustling even though it was near closing. There were so many different types of sea food available.

Gwangalli Beach: One of the beaches in Busan. It has the Gwangan Bridge in front and almost a mile long of sand. There are also coffee shops and restaurants in the area. A beautiful beach to visit if you have time.

Those are all the places I visited and things I did in Busan. If you’re planning to visit Busan, I hope you’ll have a wonderful time.
