Finding Joy in Uncertainty | End of Summer Thoughts
Life is full of mountains and valleys, full of curve balls and uncertainties. Even when we are so certain about something, the uncertainty can still happen.
I’ve always struggled with uncertainty because I like to know what’s going to happen. Even if I don’t have control over something, I still like to know how it’s going to go. I’ve wrestled with this my entire life. If you’re similar to me, know that you’re not alone.
This year, I went on a healing journey which helped me explore my subconscious, my childhood, my trauma, my past which has all contributed to me having a mindset shift going forward.
Here are 5 implementations I’ve incorporated into my life to help me have joy even in the midst of uncertainty.
1. Taking life one day at a time
2. Experience your emotions
3. Remember that God is still sovereign
4. Practice Gratitude
5. Remind myself of my certainties
Remember that you can have joy and still be in pain. We can’t escape the pain and hurts of this world, and especially the stress and frustration of the unknown. But joy is not based on exterior events, joy is found in peace—inner peace.
I have found that when I start the day full of peace and joy, I can tackle my worries and uncertainties head on. There’s a quote that says “life is 10% what happens to us, but 90% how we respond”
I’ve learned that I don’t need to be certain to live a joy-filled life. I can’t control what’s going to happen to me. But I can control how I respond. I can shift my mindset and my thoughts.
I hope this was helpful for you. What are tactics you’ve used to help you deal with uncertainty? Share below!
