2 Days in Boston | A weekend in Boston | 48 hours in Boston

Boston is a charming city. I spent a weekend there and fell in love. Here is how I spent 2 days in Boston.

I arrived Friday night and took an uber to my hotel.

Hotel: Citizen M Hotel

I enjoyed my stay at Citizen M. I think it’s a great hotel for solo or duo/couple traveling. It has a small yet spacious room with big windows. I love the lounge area. It has plenty of seating for people to work. And a beautiful balcony to enjoy the sunset.

Day One:

Museum of Fine Arts: If you love museums, this is one to visit! I love the variety of history, art, & modernism. You can get tickets there but it’s easier to get tickets online. You won’t have to wait in line. The museum has 3 floors so take your time to go through. I recommend grabbing a map to help you navigate.

Isabella Gardner Museum: I recommend getting tickets for this museum online. It is a collection of Isabella Gardner featuring a beautiful courtyard. This museum is different in the that it’s a personal collection. There are different rooms with different displays. I felt like it was a look into someone’s attic. Definitely take your time to go through. There are 3 floors. The courtyard is truly beautiful!

Quincy Market: The infamous Quincy Market is a must-do in Boston, in my opinion. There are a lot of food options as well as shops. I love that there are also live performances to enjoy.

Boston Public Market: This is right next to the Quincy Market. It is an indoor market that has food, restaurants, and shops.

Note: I did book a whale watching tour on this day. Weather was looking bad so I moved it to the next day. It then got canceled. I was bummed out. But if you’re looking for something to do, highly recommend going whale watching! Will book again if I revisit.

Day Two:

Acorn Street: This is the infamous cobblestone street in a lot of the Boston photos. It was very cool to see. It is a very tiny street both length and width. It is also a residential area so people do live here. It’s worth checking out if you have time to spare. But it is a bit underwhelming so don’t expect anything huge if you do visit.

Common: This is a huge park area. A lot of the Freedom Trail tours start here. I love that this is an area both locals and tourists enjoy. I love parks in the middle of cities, so I enjoyed the Common very much.

Public Garden: The Public Garden is beautiful. I fell in love with this area. This is the part of Boston that made me fall in love with the city. It’s romantic, it’s peaceful, it’s lovely, it’s beautiful. I love everything about it. Highly recommend visiting! This is a must-do.

Newbury Street: This is a shopping strip that is next to the Public Garden. In the morning there were street vendors which was super cool. If you want to do some shopping, check out Newbury Street. There are also restaurants and a lot of coffee shops on this strip.

Boston Public Library: This is a beautiful library! The décor to the architecture to the interior—everything was beautiful. There is a restaurant and afternoon tea available on the first floor. Each room also has unique look and feel. Definitely stop by if you’re visiting Boston. Plus, it’s free! (Just be mindful of people studying—it is a library after all).

View Boston: This is Boston’s observatory deck located in the Prudential Center. If you enjoy 360 bird’s eye view of cities, you will enjoy this one as well. Love seeing Boston from above.

Other Things to Note About Boston:

It is a very walkable city. I spent majority of my time walking from one neighborhood to the next. Which makes it easy to navigate though.

They also have public transportation that can get you to a lot of the major spots.

Uber/Lyft also works in Boston.

Boston is charming and rich. It’s beautiful, and I get why people love it. If you’re thinking about visiting Boston, highly recommend checking it out.

I only stayed in Boston. I didn’t venture out to Cambridge or the surrounding cities. I’ve heard great things about them though so if you have more time to spend in the area, highly recommend checking out the surrounding cities.
